Objective:
Section Sports wanted to create a national-level sports nexus. Its goal was to be acquired by an established sports media and promotions partner.
Background:
Section Sports provides an online platform focused on recruiting coverage of standout high school athletes to all sports fans, and college or professional recruiters. Initially SS worked with a freelancer for over a year before they abandoned the project due to various problems with the website and repeated delays.
Strategy:
Baytech decided to scrap the existing code and start afresh. Baytech focused on making the website user-friendly and automated on the backend.
Solutions:
Part of the solution involved a dynamic interface that contained a searchable athlete database, social networking profiles for all users, a community forum, and an automated rankings system. With the wealth of information that Section Sports provided, the project needed an easy-to-use, robust content management system and backend portal.
Results:
Section Sports was successfully acquired by Yahoo! Sports and integrated seamlessly into its Rivals.com sports web portal.
